Two major initiatives to improve life insurance awareness were undertaken in 2012, as follows:
1. To provide the public with general information about life insurance, PLIA ran a seven-part monthly column series titled “LIFE TALKS” at the Philippine Star. It started on July 2, 2012 and completed on February 4, 2013.

2. PLIA organized and held on October 14, 2012 at the Bonifacio Global City a family fun run dubbed as “InsuRUNce 2012”. It was primarily a run by members of the insurance industry with a public component of 500 runners having been allowed to participate in order to create an initial mark of this event in the running community.
